Final Cut Pro X is by far my most used app on the Mac, as I use it to produce a large swath of the content on our YouTube channel. As a long-time proponent of Apple’s flagship NLE, I’d like to use this week’s edition of Friday 5 to share some of my favorite Final Cut Pro X tips for those of you who use the app to create content for YouTube. A look inside the underground Steve Jobs Theater ahead of Apple’s iPhone 8 event

So far, we’ve mostly only seen photos and videos of the ground level lobby of the Steve Jobs Theater, which doesn’t reveal much since the theater is underground. Now, some user submitted photos to Google Maps of the theater give us a good look at the actual auditorium before Apple’s September 12 event.

Apple seeds macOS High Sierra beta 9 to developers

Following yesterday’s beta 9 releases of iOS 11 and tvOS 11, Apple on Friday seeded beta 9 of macOS High Sierra to developers. The update can be downloaded over the air through the Mac App Store’s Updates tab, or for those who aren’t already running a previous beta, you can grab the full install from Apple’s Dev Center.

As indicated in its name, macOS High Sierra is more of a fine-tuning update to macOS Sierra, rather than a full-blown refresh. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any noticeable changes though. In fact, we were able to find 100 changes in the update. Be sure to check out our video below.

Apple announces Simi Valley store to permanently close on September 15th

In an update to its retail website, Apple has noted that its 11-year-old location in Simi Valley, California, will be permanently shuttered on September 15th. The closure will occur just after the introduction of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone Edition, but likely before the new models officially go on sale.
